Jim was a resident of Birmingham, formerly of Ann Arbor. He was a 1976 graduate of Bloomfield Hills Lahser High School where he was a member of the basketball team. He was also a devoted alumni of the University of Michigan and received a bachelor’s degree in 1981. He was also a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Jim was a longtime financial advisor in the Detroit area, a University of Michigan sports fan and an avid reader.

Beloved husband of the late Nancy B. Lohman. Beloved son of Richard F. and the late Rose Marie Meidell. Dear brother of Robert S., M.D. and William G. Uncle of Krystin, Katelyn and Matt. Also survived by his dogs, Erin and Lexi, and his friends and fraternity brothers of Phi Delta Theta.

Family will receive friends Sunday 1-4p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile). Memorial tributes to the Michigan Humane Society.
